Has Your Annual Minimum Wage Increase Been Capped?
As the minimum wage increase is announced is it enough to help people and small business cope?
The news is still full of stories about families struggling to make ends meet as employers and public services ‘cap wages’ and cut back on salaries and personal incomes.
So what does the Minimum wage increase 2013 mean for the average family?
The recent minimum wage increase is a very small amount of money when compared to the rising costs that everyone is experiencing but nevertheless it all helps to some degree to pay the bills …. or does it?
Sadly the reality is that the minimum wage increase does not cover the recent food, energy and fuel price increases.
Minimum Wage Increase – Is this resulting in ‘wage capping’ ?
Many businesses are struggling to survive, so annual wage increases have generally been put on the back burner in an attempt for some businesses to remain competitive and in business. However, with the minimum wage being recently increased this will put more pressure on some businesses that in turn may result in them reducing employees hours and overtime as a means and way to keep up with rising overheads and costs? So whilst the increase may help some people it could also mean bad news for others if their working hours are reduced.
It’s not just employees and businesses that are suffering… It’s got so bad that even Social security benefits are being capped in the UK, Europe and the USA as governments try to save money to cope with the global recession and reduce their deficits.
Look how bad things have got in Cyprus lately with the Government and banks taking peoples hard earn savings away from them.. ! A day never seems to go by without more news off cuts backs, reduced benefits and job losses.
Many people may well agree that social service benefits should be capped in the hope that it will encourage more people to try harder to find employment rather than ‘play the benefit system’ to get what some class as a ‘free income’.
Whether you agree or not as this being a fair way to get people back into work there are many hard working individuals who are being forced into finding additional ways to increase their household income rather than simple accept the minimum wage increase as a solution to their problems.
How to earn more money than the minimum wage increase.
Some people are taking on additional jobs during the evenings and weekends to try and increase their weekly wage, whilst others are working longer hours for their employers in an attempt to increase their household income.
Mums and dads on maternity leave are returning back to work far earlier then they have too so as to receive their full hourly wage rather than a reduced maternity hourly rate. This then results in them missing out on being able to spend more valuable time with their new family member.
All of the stresses and strains so many people are experiencing as their incomes are being reduced is having an effect of the Health service. They are reporting a rise in people suffering from depression and other related aliments as the overall affect takes it’s toll on peoples health, some no doubt genuine, others not quiet so.
Despite some governments recently announcing a minimum wage increase it doesn’t appear to have had the impact they had hoped for. Some businesses find that increasing the minimum wage means they have to make staff redundant adding more people to the ‘dole queue’.
More and more working parents are finding it hard to cope despite the minimum wage increase as the average wage increases actually fall, coupled with benefits now being capped those who are unemployed are going to find it even harder to pay their bills.
The lack of wage increases is definitely having a detrimental affect on family life and relationships as recent surveys and reports reveal. No matter which direction you turn or what measures businesses and the government take it always effects someone some where. No matter what action is taken the whole process just seems to be a vicious circle. The realty is each and every one of us has to make of an effort to fight for our own survival.
How To Earn More Than The Minimum Wage Increase
Millions of people are looking for ways to increase their incomes rather than turn to the ‘social services’ for help. This is what the governments want but the fact remains that some children and families are suffering more than they should have too.
What is quite inspiring though, is the effort some people are making towards finding ways to increase their income rather than rely on the minimum wage increase or social services to help them.
Some people are turning to educational courses and online training strategies in the hope to find new employment opportunities and boost their incomes whilst others are finding new skills on the Internet through educational home courses and online opportunities to do so rather than just accept the minimum wage increase.
The Internet does offer some great ways and opportunities to help you increase your personal income and earn much more than the minimum wage increase using various strategies and resources. The Internet is even responsible for helping some individuals create wage increases far beyond what they thought was possible.
What is true is that we cannot be expected to reply on the government to change our lives. Unless we as individuals take responsibility for our own success, the wages we earn and the route our lives take we will never achieve what we truly want or deserve.
The minimum wage increase won’t enable you to go out and buy a new car, or book a family holiday… but with a little extra effort and hard work you could quite easily earn an additional income that would help you buys some of those extra luxuries.
This is what generally motivates people to work harder so that they can have a few extra luxuries, something that in turn can help boost one’s moral and inspire you to look beyond your comfort zone. Nothing is impossible… If just means having to put in some real extra effort.
