Is Your Work / Life Balance Wrong?

Wednesday, July 25th, 2012

The working day is, for many of us, increasingly invading our home life. If any of the following apply to you, it could be time to start questioning whether you have a happy and healthy balance:

Your Phone is Never Off

Smart phones have revolutionised the way we work – but they do have a downside. It’s all too easy to ‘just check’ that latest email or Google that burning question. Make sure it’s off or turned to silent for a period of time each day, to give yourself a chance to relax or to give your full attention to your children. Make it a rule that calls and texts aren’t answered at mealtimes – this should apply to teenagers’ phones too.

You Never Take a Lunch Break

If this applies to you, step away from your desk right now. Go for a walk or swim. Sit in the park and read. Eating hunched over your keyboard while you check emails doesn’t count; give your eyes a complete screen break and stretch out – your afternoon will be more productive as a result.

You’re the Bottom of the Pile

It’s essential to create time for yourself that’s set in stone every week. Take up a new hobby or restart an old one. Pursuing something you’re passionate about will refresh and invigorate you and help keep work problems in perspective.

Facebook is Your Only Friend

You might think your 347 Facebook friends make you look popular but they don’t count if you never see them in real life. Make time each week to nurture friendships; set up a weekly cinema night with a group of friends or plan time on the weekend to phone a friend who lives further away.

You’re Not Getting Enough Sleep

Sleep is one of nature’s best medicines yet few of us get enough. The only way to crack this is to be really firm and stick to a set bedtime. Think about whether you’re an early bird or night owl and plan the time to suit your lifestyle. Turn your phone off half an hour earlier, start getting ready and have a little read before lights out – once you’re into a routine you’ll soon be looking forward to putting your PJs on!

We all experience different emotions and challenges but staying focused on sperating work from our social / family life is a very important factor towards creating a perfect work / life balance. More and more people are now working from home and starting their own business which is when getting that balance right because all so more important.

If you would like to learn more about starting your own business or working from home we would be glad to help you get started.

Top Tips for a Working Mum

Monday, June 25th, 2012

How often have you wished for more hours in the day?

Well perhaps instead of longing for more time, it’s time to start maximising the hours you already have. With sensible time management and by being prepared, you can be a stress-free mum with a fulfilling home and work life. Just read on!

  1. Always have a back up. Give your partner’s or a relative’s details as a second emergency contact so it’s not always you being called out of meetings. If you don’t have family nearby, come to an arrangement with a mum friend to help each other out in a crisis.
  2. Plan well ahead. Don’t leave deadlines to the last minute, as children rarely chose a convenient time to be ill! Factor in a buffer of a day or two to avoid last-minute panic.
  3. Say goodbye to 9-to-5. If it’s not possible to pack your working day between school runs, consider short, sharp bursts around family life. Could you squeeze in an hour before the children get up, or hand over to partners and grandparents on a Saturday morning?
  4. If you’re a list person, technology is making things even easier. Use apps such as 3do and Toodledo to make lists and receive reminders.
  5. Make time for you! If you’re stressed out, the whole family will be affected. Time for a long soak, your favourite programme or a walk or run will make all the difference to your wellbeing – and, in turn, your productivity.

Can Online Businesses Thrive Without Mentoring

What Is Mentoring And Why is Having A Mentor So Important ?

Do you know of an athlete that has succeeded without a mentor or a footballer that has reached the premiership without coaching?

Personally, I feel that coaching and mentoring plays an extremely important part towards creating success in what we set out to do. Online Mentoring And Coaching With http://PerfectProsperity.com

The truth is that in most careers, whether it is in sport, business or acting, very few people succeed without personal one to one mentoring.

David Beckham was mentored by Sir Bobby Charlton, Sir Anthony Hopkins was mentored by Sir Lawrence Olivier,  Sir Richard Branson was mentored by Sir Freddie Laker and even comic hero Robin was mentored by Batman.

In fact we all have had a mentor of some kind, whether it has been our parents, teachers or a manager in work, the list goes on.

Definition of Mentoring
The term mentor dates back to the time of the Trojan War when Odysseus placed Mentor, the son of Alcimus, in charge of his son Telemachus, whilst he was away in the Trojan War. Since that time the term mentor has been used to describe a person who imparts their wisdom and shares knowledge with less experienced colleagues.

The role of a mentor is to help others with their personal development and to help them to progress within their careers and fulfil their true potential. A good mentor will support his mentee but will also empower them to be independent in achieving their goals. They will help them to foster a self belief and will apply the tools and techniques required to acquire the skill sets needed to become a successful entrepreneur.

A successful mentor has already gone down the route that you are taking and they will be able to steer you in the right direction, hence avoiding making costly mistakes along the way. This is why I offer a free mentoring service to individuals who want me to help them start a new business. Online mentoring has made this so much easier to do with people all onver the world.

How Do You Find The Best Mentor To Help You Succeed In Online Marketing? Personal Mentoring Services

The way to achieve the best coaching and mentoring is by joining an online business that has its own network and community of top successful entrepreneurs who will offer the best training and advice to help you succeed.  Successful and reputable online businesses usually offer mentoring programs that will teach how to effectively make money online from home and usually include a personal development plan to help you flourish.

Joining a reputable global online business opportunity will offer the best and most cost effective ways of starting an online business. By doing so you will receive training from top business experts that will lead you to long term success. For example, the training and mentoring we provide people who join our online and small businesses includes focused education on all the skill sets needed to become a successful entrepreneur. It includes how to adopt a good business mindset, the right leadership skills and the best ways to market your business to ensure long term financial security.

This type of mentoring and training is invaluable as it will accelerate the speed at which your business will grow as well preventing you from making costly mistakes. In other words your mentor has already experienced, tried and tested and overcome difficulties and turned them into successful money making strategies.

There is no doubt that mentoring is paramount to the success of online businesses. Like most other careers, having someone to support you and walk you through the process step by step can not only save you from making a lot of costly mistakes but can also accelerate your success massively. However, before embarking with any online home business, be careful to ensure that you are offered the best mentoring and commission available. This will ensure that you make money the easy way.

Best Way Towards Building Self Confidence

How To build Self Confidence

The most important step in building self confidence is to simply to take action. Identify what you want, work on it and get it done. self confidence

Sitting at home and thinking about it will just make you feel worse. It’s not always easy to do but to help you understand what needs to be done towards building self confidence, it’s well worth using the same strategies I have used over the years towards building self confidence that in turn has helped me towards success.

Think for Today not Yesterday
Snap out of thinking about the past and the ‘what if’s’, ‘I wish I had done that’ scenario, otherwise it will mess around with your emotions and hold you back.  Instead, just go and do whatever you want to get done. Be spontaneous. When you do, the feeling and results will be amazing. For example, when the sun shines lots of people are far more spontaneous and productive and will cram much more into their day by going for a walk, washing the car, doing some gardening all because their emotions are good and their feel ambitious.

It took me over two years to start my first business because everyone around me said I was ‘mad’ and put so much negativity on the idea that it held me back. Now those people wish they could do the same. The reality is they still can.. building self confidence

Don’t Take Things Too Seriously
The biggest reason we dissuade ourselves from taking action is because we take things far too seriously making us feel that the task is too big, too difficult and even too scary. Put those negative feelings to one side and just do it…… with a more positive state of mind your road towards building self confidence and believing in yourself will become so much easier.

Do You Really Want it ?
Think back to the last time you really wanted something… a new job, to start a new business, buy a new car or to go on holiday. How hard did you work to get it ?

Exactly ! We all do it and can do it. So when faced with something that you may fear look at it in a similar way… look at it as though it is that much sort after holiday you want.

Change your way of thinking and go for it. Eventually, taking this course of action will become natural and will help you towards building your self confidence, as you go along.

Experiencing situations where you can face your fear is what really helps to build self confidence. Try not to be afraid instead be Curious ! Building Self Confidence

Curiosity is filled with anticipation and enthusiasm. It tends to open you up and make the things we may have feared more achievable and interesting. We all know someone who always appears to be relaxed and chilled out, with nothing ever seeming to make them anxious. These individuals have learnt how to deal with emotions and very often look at every situation as a positive one and being something that can be easily accomplished.

Job interviews, meeting the bank manager or calling your customers are things people fear. Instead, try being yourself, someone who is cheerful and willing to give something to others, e.g your new employer can benefit from your skills, your bank manager can benefit from the money he will make from your business and your customers from the excellent service you can offer.  Why fear what you can offer?

Be Prepared but not over prepared
Not knowing what you’re about to do, can make your mind work over time and create unnecessary horror scenarios, make you nervous and make you feel negative.

Preparation and education can help. For example by rehearsing and rewriting your speech over and over again can pretty much help you learn it off by heart.

It can make a huge difference to your confidence if you take the time to prepare yourself. And of course, the speech and the delivery of it will most likely be a lot better too, but avoid getting stuck in the preparation phase and using it as a way to avoid taking action or for making excuses not to perform!

Failure will not kill you
Everyone has learnt from mistakes. The world has developed around this philosophy. Failure is simply something that we may have done wrong, it’s a learning experience and a way to move on with more confidence. It shows that you are someone who doesn’t sit around doing nothing instead you are someone who has courage and determination and will improve your chances of succeeding.

How to build self confidenceBe Who You Want To Be
To build and create more confidence in yourself you have to get to know yourself more.

Establish what your strengths are and what you feel may be your weaknesses. Write every thing down and build on what is most important to you. Reward yourself on a regular basis. Take time out to enjoy what you like doing and plan ahead.

It doesn’t really matter what other people think or say about you, what does matter is YOU. That’s not to say you can’t learn from others because you can. It all takes time. Building self confidence and educating yourself never stops there is always more to learn.
