The Joys of ‘Working From Home’

    Monday, November 21st, 2011

Do You Enjoy ‘Workng From Home’

    Or Do You Hate Mondays?

Over  the weekend, we very often experience how good it would be if we never had to work again.  Sleeping in longer in the mornings, being able to do what we want, when we want… surfing, puttering around the garden, taking the kids to the park, flipping hamburgers on the grill, walking the dog etc.

But is really all possible….. ? Working from home ideas

Reality then hits home and the Monday morning alarm clock rings out loud… , we stumble out of bed, get dressed, grab a quick cup of coffee, and inch along at a snail’s pace to the office. Mondays remind us of all of the wrong choices we’ve made along the way.  They very often remind us of the dreams we had as kids that never came true and the ‘roads’ we very often wish we had taken.

Surveys reveal that most people hate Mondays, except those that work from themselves. In fact most actually detest and loathe them. As the world economy takes it’s toll, lots of people are now being forced into working for themselves and or starting a business to be able to create a new future. more and more people are looking for work from home ideas so that they can become more independent and create an income of their choosing. Internet-based home business start ups are also on the increase as they offer an easier way to earn money rather than having to invest large sums of money into starting a traditional bricks and mortar type of business.

I personally don’t miss having a boss one bit…. and in any case I still have my lovely wife as my boss ! (ONLY JOKING)   I still work very hard developing my home based businesses, sometimes harder than I did as an employee but that is because I thoroughly enjoy doing it. That’s the big difference.  After all, I’m reaping the full benefit of my efforts for myself rather than slaving to make an employer rich. I plan my own future, how much money I make and I have the freedom to work and play as I choose.

This all sounds like great fun but please don’t be misled. Starting a new business / home business from any of the working from home ideas that you may have found, requires a lot of hard work to begin with. If anyone tells you otherwise then they are simply telling lies.

Individuals who have started a new online home based business always tell me that it was tough to begin with… but it was fun and taught them so much more about themselves and family life and that is what they cherish most.  Once they have created and developed their business, they then feel they can take a day off whenever they choose.  They don’t feel rushed morning, noon, and night, instead they choose and give themselves the luxury of time and the freedom that comes with it to suit themselves. home based business opportunity

However, like any caring hardworking self employed entrepreneur, they still worry about their business and their customers when they take time off. This is perfectly natural and just goes to show how dedicated home based career minded individuals / entrepreneurs really are.

I personally remember when my business finally brought in enough extra income every month to enable me to quit my full-time job.  I thought about all the things I could now afford, all the things my family and I could do.  You’ll probably laugh, but what I really I wanted most was to spend a quiet hour in the morning drinking a cup of coffee and reading through all of my emails, messages and socialising on the social networking sites.

We all have similar dreams  or even bigger ones which is what very often motivates us towards starting a new business or changing careers. Whatever your dream and ambitions may be there is always someone out there that can help you. But let us not forget some home truths.

Starting any type of business is a new world that you will be entering into. The benefits and rewards can be huge but take some sound advice in that you should consider starting your business venture around your existing job. This will give you some security as you develop your new venture and get it established. Don’t be afraid to ask for help rather than ‘going it alone’. You will learn more, far quicker and make more money far easier than by making mistakes that will hit one place only  ……. YOUR POCKET !

If you’re still sitting on the fence dreaming of starting a home business of any kind,  Don’t keep singing the Monday Morning Blues, do something about it before you regret it !

    Kind Regards

Be prepared for the stress of merging family life and work. It takes time to master a way to manage your time between the two and can cause some people difficulties. After 25 years in this business I still sometimes end up working more hours than I need to. Also the stress of being “on your own” can prove strange at first for some individuals. There is no one to cover your shift or carry on earning you money unless you have more of an automated type of home business. However there are ways to over come this if need be.

    The Four Types of Entrepreneurs

    Saturday, June 11th, 2011

    Which Entreprepeur Type Are You

There are many hard working people / entrepreneurs all over the world, some who work hard and those that work smart.

I suppose in theory you could split them down into four types.

The Builder: Loves building a business; the type of business doesn’t matter as long as it can be built into a big enterprise.  ‘Builders’ like creating big brands, and having control over the day to day activities within their industries.  Put a ‘Builder’ into a company and within a short space of time they can determine what’s working, what’s not working, what needs to change. They are also very clever at getting employees to support their way of thinking.  Builders eat, sleep, and think strategy and are great at communicating their vision for the company.

    • Strengths: Excel at raising money, putting systems in place, launching businesses successfully.
    • Weaknesses: Temperamental, high output, and tends to leave a wake of relationship casualties behind.  Little interest in businesses that won’t become big earners. Builders tend to get bored easily

The Opportunist: The Opportunist is a risk taker. Opportunists want to be at the right place at the right time to make as much money as fast as possible.  Richard bRANSONOpportunist are individuals who if they are riding in a Hyundai of opportunity and see you riding in a Ferrari of opportunity, they’ll gladly jump into your car. Carrot driven, an Opportunist will work incredibly hard when the carrot seems big enough.

    • Strengths: Motivated, extremely positive, huge work effort, natural born salespeople.  Failure is a minor irritation; an Opportunist can fail today, lose thousands of dollars, and wake up tomorrow eager to roll.
    • Weaknesses: Impulsive, can quickly lose focus, prone to making snap decisions.

The Specialist: Specialists develop a skill and build a business around that skill.  Their business is based on expertise and the ability to deliver: Accountants, plumbers, doctors, writers, programmers, masons… all are Specialists.   Specialists tend to become entrepreneurs so they can be their own boss.

    • Strengths: Focused, analytical, methodical, highly skilled.  Can start and run a business for twenty to thirty years or more.
    • Weaknesses: Slow to see opportunities to expand, diversify, and grow.

The Innovator: Innovators don’t normally plan to become entrepreneurs; instead they normally play around with a program, or a concept and a business is then created around it.  The Innovator wants to stay in the “lab” and do more research and development.  Innovators want to create the next cool thing, not build the next cool company.

    • Strengths: Innovative, creative, able to develop breakthrough intellectual properties.
    • Weaknesses: Don’t know anything about business, management, finance…

Richard Branson for example is an Opportunist who is also a ‘Builder’ of excellent companies within several industries. Opportunists assume they are Innovators because they are typically among the first to jump on a new idea for making money.  But that’s not innovative, that’s opportunistic.  And many Specialists assume they are Builders because they have run the same successful business for ten years.  But unless you have built a multi-million dollar business — and could parachute into a different business tomorrow and quickly make it a success — you’re a Specialist, not a Builder.

Each type of entrepreneur has a unique strength and the key is to leverage those strengths.  Let’s say you’re a Specialist, you could align yourself with an Opportunist who can market and sell your services.  You’ll benefit from the Opportunist’s energy and creativity and the Opportunist will benefit from your ability to analyze, create systems, and deliver reliably and vise versa…… .

In short, always be who you are and leverage your strengths to connect with the people whose gifts complement yours.  When you do, you get to do more of what you love — and enjoy greater success in the process. If you try to do it all you will no doubt fail.

How To Work A Few Hours A Day And Make Lots of Money

    Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

Working 3 hours A Day From Home Really is Great Fun

Not just because you’re making money but because you get to decide how to run your own life instead of your employer. If we can do it so can you.

However, you can’t just sit around and expect money to slip into your bank account or through the letter box, you have to work on R.P.A’s (Revenue Producing Activities).

So what are they and how much time should you spend on each of them: @images

    1. First of all, call every competent-sounding person who leaves you a message. People who show enthusiasm and urgency. Give them 10 minutes of your time to see how serious they are about their enquiry. Dedictate about an hour a day on the phone with new prospects. Keep the
conversations short and to the point asking them questions whilst staying in control at all times.

The best way to make people want to know more is to keep the call short claiming not to have much time to talk, but instead direct them to your website for more answers, so you don’t have to do all of the “explaining”.

    2. Making improvements to your “marketing funnel”.
This includes making adjustments to the content of website, your capture sites and autoresponder emails. Make one significant improvement to your system every week.

    3. Make adjustments to your lead generators or “traffic drivers”.

For the most part this should be search engines, banner ads, social networks, print ads, and co-ops with other people in your business.

Dedicate about 2-4 hours a week on creating traffic.

    4. Coaching and training your team.

This should be your most single and biggest investment. You may well have developed systems for automating a lot of this work talk to your  team is paramount. They want a leader to follow.

Some top business people never talk to their team but you should as it is irresponsible and could cost you a lot of money in the long run. If you don’t have the time aim to get an assistant to help you.  Helping your team be successful will make you money so I have an incentive to be a good coach.
    ist2_6070378-monitor-money-machine

Spend about 10 hours a week / 2 hours a day on private coaching and the rewards will follow.

So lets tally this all up. As you can see the amount of time needed to continue making lots of money is………..

    - 5 hours a week on #1
    - 5 hours a week on #2
    - 4 hours a week on #3
    - 13 hours a week on #4

So that’s 27 hours a week ….. in other words part time work that could well make you £40K per month.

One thing for certain is that there is no secret to what you can earn, no magic bullet or special formula. If you learn and implement what you are taught then you too can make this amount of money. Keep learning and improving yourself and focus on RPA’s and the income streams that you create will speak for themselves.

Anyone with confidence and a little information can become an instant expert and the rewards become self fulfilling

    Other Ways To Be Successful

Other Ways To Be Successful In Life

When asked the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” my nine year old daughter constantly replies “a famous singer”.

When I try to bring hOther Ways To Be Successfuler gently back to reality by asking “but what if you don’t manage to succeed in being a singer, she immediately replies, “then I will be a famous actress instead.”

It is sad but true that in today’s fame obsessed culture most young people aspire to be a famous celebrityrather than seeking careers in the more traditional roles like nursing, teaching or becoming a lawyer.

This is sad and sure to lead to disappointment. That is why it is important  for  me to be a good example to my children by being successful in my business and providing a  secure childhood for them.

I will then hopefully make them realise that should they fail in their quest to become famous , then  at least there are still  other ways to achieve success and fulfilment rather than simply accepting that you have to get a job being a waiter, lawyer, doctor or a mechanic.

I know my children feel privilidged that I am home all day every day running my business from home, choosing the hours and days I decided to work. If nothing else I hope they feel that there is always an opportunity for them to do the same.
